Gig Harbor Counseling
This is the outpatient component
of Olalla Recovery Centers. Clients are referred because of a wide
variety of medical, legal and social problems. To accommodate such
dissimilar needs, we have created a number of outpatient treatment
phases and specialized programs.
Intensive Outpatient Program
— Group sessions and individual counseling
sessions. Includes alcohol and other drug education classes.
Weekly Group Counseling Sessions
— Focus of group process is in-depth
exploration of strengths and weaknesses, life-style changes and
individual problems found in recovery.
Monthly Group Sessions —
Relapse prevention. Life skills. Focus in a group process format.
Relapse Prevention — For those
individuals who relapse. Consists
of education, group session and individual counseling sessions, along
with structured assignments.
Women’s Groups — Focus of group
process is in-depth exploration of strengths and weaknesses, life-style
changes and individual problems found in recovery. This includes
exploration of issues that primarily affect women and impact their
ability to attain long-term abstinence.
Family Services — We consider the
family an integral part of the recovery process. Families participate in
education classes and therapy sessions to help them learn about chemical
dependency, improve communication skills and facilitate continued
personal growth and development.
Alcohol/Drug Information School —
Nine (9) hours of education designed to increase effective decision
making skills regarding the use of alcohol/drugs.
Alcohol and Drug
Education Classes — Eight (8) classes covering major areas of chemical
dependency, including the affect on family members or involved
significant others.
Substance Abuse Program —
Tailored to individual needs of substance abusing clients. Includes
education group process sessions and structured assignments that support
self-awareness and behavior modification.
