FREE Family Intervention Counseling
Are you concerned someone’s drinking or drug use? Free confidential intervention counseling is available by phone, or in person. Formal Interventions are available on a case by case basis usually in the Seattle/Tacoma/Bremerton area.

Formal Interventions The rate is $1000, as these take several counseling hours. A formal intervention can require four or five meetings with the family, or in an emergency, we can do an all-day meeting with assignment breaks and then set up the intervention meeting. We also make referrals to local intervention counselors. |
Family Intervention: is it safe?

Structure of the Usual Formal Intervention:
Once to meet with the interested parties to explain the intervention
process, decide who should be involved.
Second time to meet with all the persons who are going to be present at
the intervention, give out assignments, answer concerns, explain the
process again.
Third time to go over the written letters and then process feelings with
all present, set time and place for actual intervention.
Fourth time is the actual intervention meeting, with family and friends
reading the letters, asking addict/alcoholic to go to treatment (or
whatever outcome family agreed upon before hand).
Fifth time (optional depending on if addict goes to treatment and if
family members don’t all go to family program or as needed) to meet with
family/friends again for wrap up.
Method of Payment*
After the first meeting, at which time a FORMAL
INTERVENTION is decided upon, (remember first meeting is free and the
family may decide to do their own intervention), one-half of the fee is
required to proceed further ($500) usually paid at the second meeting.
At the time of the actual intervention (where we all show up to lovingly
confront the alcoholic/addict), the second half ($500) is due and
payable. This is usually collected before the actual intervention begins
(otherwise it’s too chaotic).
